Watanabe Sake Brewery is located in the town of Furukawa in Hida, Gifu Prefecture. The Watanabe family started the brewery in 1870 under the name of “Hourai” and today the brewery is registered as a Tangible Cultural Property of Japan. Brewery philosophy is to carefully select the ingredients and to follow time tested, traditional techniques developed by the previous generations. Mass production is not their style and they are committed to production of the most exquisite quality of sake.
